What is an RSS feed?
An RSS feed (sometimes called a news feed) is a listing of a website's content. It is updated whenever new content is published to the site. RSS readers "subscribe" to the RSS feeds, which means they download lists of devotionals, stories, or articles at an interval that you specify (every 30 minutes, for example). This works similarly to an email being downloaded to an email application. An RSS feed might contain a list of headlines, a list of article summaries, or a list containing the full text of an article. All RSS feeds will have a link back to the website, so if you see a something you like you may click the link and visit the entire web page.
What is RSS?
Depending on whom you ask, the acronym RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication", "Rich Site Summary", or any of a handful of others.
The meaning of the acronym is not important, however. An RSS feed (also known as a news feed) is a site's syndicated news feed that you subscribe to using your RSS reader.

What is a news reader?
An RSS reader (also known as a news aggregator) is simply a piece of software that you can use to read your subscribed RSS feeds. It works similarly to RSS feeds as Outlook, Eudora and Thunderbird work to email.
The following is a list of RSS readers available for download:
There are many more RSS readers available (typically for free). To find them search for "RSS reader" in Google.
What is syndication?
Syndication refers to the process that occurs when a publisher provides content in a form that can be consumed by software (like an RSS reader).
Here is how a syndicated woh.org feed works.
- woh.org publishes new content (typically a new daily devotional or weekly radio script)
- Your RSS reader is set to check woh.org for updates on a periodic basis - set by each individual user.
- Any new content that is found is downloaded to the RSS reader and usually signalled by a flashing icon on your screen.
